3. eVisa Required (All Other Countries)
Citizens of all other countries — those not listed for Visa on Arrival and not Kenya/Djibouti — must apply for an eVisa online before travel. The online Tourist eVisa (VT) is available to all nationalities, so there is no country that cannot enter Ethiopia legally through the eVisa system.
Special Cases and Restrictions
While all nationalities can technically apply, some situations create complications:
- Payment restrictions: Citizens of Cuba, Iraq, Sudan, Yemen, Somalia, North Korea, Afghanistan, South Sudan, Crimea, and Syria cannot use credit cards for payment on evisa.gov.et (effective November 18, 2020).
